ProICT Training Review: Is Google Cloud Certification Legit and Worth My Money?
Question of the day or month or year? Is Google Cloud certification worth my time and money? As a Google Cloud Specialist at ProICT Training- it is an evergreen question that I hear coming out of those who are willing to learn and pursue Google cloud training and certification courses.
Is Google certification in demand? Will I get a decent salary package? What does the future really hold for us? What Google certification should I start with?
As a professional, I believe it is okay to feel lost or overwhelmed by all the research you have done and information you have gathered. It indicates that you are serious about the certification. Whether you want to become the cloud engineer, cloud architect or cloud developer, you need to consider a few facts before deciding where you want to invest your time and resources. I mean I have seen people investing their time and money on different courses while hoping they will bring some changes in their career… Don’t make the same mistake.
As a Google Cloud instructor, I prefer to answer some of the most common questions related to the worth of the Google Cloud Practitioner certification before starting with teaching. However, right before you start, I want you to know that some of these are not sugar-coated or in the way most marketing companies want you to see. It is straight to the point and can be bitter. So, let’s go with it.
Is Google Cloud platform worth my time learning and getting the certification?
Well, I honestly think it is a bit of a complicated question, but here are two main reasons why you should get the Google cloud practitioner certification.
- First: whatever you learn could be beneficial for your career, maybe you fail to see that right now, but it could be a benefit to your future job roles.
- Second: Learning about the Google cloud platform can further enhance your horizon in the digitized world. Also, having the Google cloud certification on your resume will surely catch the attention of the interviewer.
Is Getting Google Cloud Platform Certification Worth the Investment?
When talking about the investment part, you need to pay extra attention. To be true, getting the Google cloud certification if you already have Azure or AWS will add no value in your net worth, unless you sell the content, the role will pay the same or more salary you were getting before certifying. Due to the economic crisis, there is no recent growth in wages. However, as things will get better with time, you can expect a hike in the salary of Google cloud professionals.
What about the market demand for Google cloud professionals? Is It growing?
Well, I do see demand for people who want to pursue; however, right now, there is not much demand for professionals specialized in GCP. I have been working in IT for more than 20 years, and I see the demand for GCP professionals seem to be regional. What I am trying to explain here is that in Jacksonville, the companies demand Azure with AWS. Also, there is Deloitte that drives GCP demand, but that is in central Florida.

Where should I start with my certification?
This is another question that never gets old but doesn’t have a straight answer. I believe right before; you decided to pursue the Google cloud practitioner, you compared AWS, Azure and other cloud providers and their starter certification.
For instance: – AWS has the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification which is in demand for a while now. So, it would be easy if Google came up with the same certification.
So, the answer to the question is it depends on your experience in the field and your job role. The cloud engineer and data engineer are quite complicated and commercial line heavy for a beginner, whereas the cloud architect is more about case study and sales design-focused.
To sum the above information, I believe you should always learn things you believe increase your knowledge and allow you to explore a familiar industry.
However, in a world where industries are experiencing digital change and demand for specific roles are changing fast, IT skills that are doing average today will be hot tomorrow. Therefore, you should always invest in yourself because sooner or later, they will pay off.
